At Macha Yoga, meditation is what we all believe is the most important part of a yoga class. Up until now our focus on meditation in other classes has been enough – but now we know our community wants more!
This class is focusing entirely on establishing, developing and committing to a meditation practice you can do at home. Whether you’ve never practiced meditation before or you’re a regular practitioner looking for a little extra support to stick with it or pick it up again – this class is for you.
(Please note this class is seated in a chair in studio 2 so no yoga experience or practice is required!)
The meditation class currently takes place at 6.30pm on Mondays, facilitated by resident teacher Aoife Ni Mhurchu. Drawing on techniques from mindfulness, traditional yogic meditation and vipassana styles, Aoife adapts the class week to week to explore new techniques and modalities to deepen your practice. As part of your ticket to join the class you are also offered a recorded guided meditation to work with each week which is then sent to you via Whatsapp.
Time for discussion, feedback and advise is incorporated into the class along with active practice.
The Sunday Service
On the Second Saturday of each Month, we offer an open sit, free of charge to anyone who wishes to attend. A silent meditation technique is offered to participants but you are welcome to pursue your own practice in the time.
